When light(ning) strikes

She was powerless: what could she do

When love struck her all of a sudden

In the dark steps descending into

Nothingness?

The light dazzled all of her,

The eyes, the breasts and the loins.

She dropped on to the steps to take

All of that into her being,

Not thinking of age, skin, colour and place!

She became light and lighter…

And she became the Light herself

And took wings into the skies beyond!

It has taken me
a life time
to unveil myself
to
myself
in my fullness
to acknowledge
life
that runs through
my flesh and
to celebrate
the spirit
that throbs
in my veins:
ripe n fresh
like the fruit about to drop off.

Seeking

as i sat and waited seeking justice

i felt a rush of shame so full so vivid

i looked down and winced in pain

how could i let so much happen with me

the years of humiliation filled me

engulfing me with a rage unknown to me

never will it happen again

Passions

I cannot contain passions
that keep rising inside
but my spirit is choked
by the walls built over centuries of rigidity -
"A woman attracts..and so is the attacker...
of men's fragile control of their bodies"
But I will break free
and let loose all my desires,
and seek my release
in this body and through it.
