A life spent  taking care
of appearances
appreciation
of beauty as truth
then suddenly
a question that jolts.
truth
of things turning ugly?
I feel like taking down
all pretenses and covers.
Whatever lies beneath
hidden
is the truth
even though ugly.
In facing it I live
truly
and living truly is beauty.
I have lived
till now
sparingly.

Some used to whisper
some used to call out
to the beauty of the body
feared being sinful.
And knew
in the heart of hearts
flesh leapt out
of  spirit.
And I stood bewildered
until the spirit called out
to my flesh and said
nothing
just stood close
very close and melted.
From that moment
truth is
beauty is

 all of me
and all of this life.

unadorned
unaffected
untreated
where the hard rocks
play with soft vines
and dry bark bring
forth tender shoots
and an eternal flame
lives on in mortal frames.

Going deep
is a desire
that comes
from the depth
of being
to reach the
bottom of things
and their truth
in the hope
that there
lies true
beauty and
one's salvation
from the drag
of the daily
living.  So
going deep
is a solace
to the dusted
and cleaned
soul of things.
