I can't wish away
pain and suffering

them squarely 

at least
bear them patiently.
And I have been....
so much so that
something pleasant
becomes a surprise
tinged by fear.
no pleasant surprises for me.
Don't ask me for anything future.
Any more of that and I
simply fold inward
until I become a speck
to be flicked off.
Just let me
