I was about to
take a step
toward light
when the straw
of a doubt crossed
my sight and
warned:
tread cautiously
and trade wisely
for
treasures are not valued
in the land of the thirsty -
only water is.
So now I keep
my diamonds
to myself
waiting for the day
when a real connoisseur
will turn up
at my doorstep.
