There was a time when
beauty was a burden
to me:
to be carried and cared for,
to be receiving gazes, appreciative
admiring and aggressive too.
Then my body one day
whispered to me:
You are the gift and the gifted,
truth breathed life into your cells
so celebrate and fulfill your destiny.
That was the time.....
